Iolite is the gem variety of cordierite which is the stone by which the Vikings navigated the sea, hence used in these copies of Viking jewellery by Yngvar O Kristiansen. This Viking range (called Stein Y Krinstiansen) was introduced in the early 90s and ceased to be made around the millennium.
