William Henry Warmington, an Arts and Crafts silver caddy spoon, London 1966, stamped ‘WH over W‘ for William Henry Warrmington, hammered and cut form, shaped tab handle, 7.2 cm long, the bowl 4.5 cm diameter (Ref S+780) SOLD

William Henry Warmington (1895-1979) born in Badsey his family moved to Sheep Street in Chipping Campden in 1904. William attended Chipping Campden Grammar School from 1906 until 1910.  He then joined the Guild of Handicrafts and learnt the art of silversmithing. He also taught silversmithing at evening classes at Cheltenham Art College and at Campden School of Arts and Crafts. It is noted that he continued to work at the Silk Mill until he was 70 years old making this possibly one of the last things he produced.
