Lisbeth Nordskov (attributed), bicycle rubber inner tube and metal necklace, Denmark, unmarked, circa 1982. Lisbeth Nordskov began making jewellery from the inner tubes of bicycle tyres around 1982, before repurposing or up cycling or recycling entered the lexicon of everyday life. It was also her playful attitude to jewellery design that led her this way. (Not for sale, from my own private collection)
