Stefano Pallanti, silver sugar box, Italy, circa 1999, stamped with facsimile signature ‘Pallanti’, ‘925’ in an oval and the post 1968 official polygon with star, makers number and province mark within, 14 cm long

Stefano Pallanti designed this piece, in 1999 when Italy introduced the Euro. Inspired by the debate that raged in the media about losing the Lira he incorporated the Euro symbol as the handle of a tea and coffee service, of which this is the sugar box. No more than fifteen of these pieces were produced.
