Although unmarked the attribution can be made absolute as a similar brooch, set with mother of pearl, hallmarked for George Hunt, Birmingham 1918, was illustrated in the exhibition ‘George Edward Hunt-The Silent World of an Arts and Crafts Jeweller’. Exhibit 12, text page 14, illustration page 15. This represents the early part in George Hunt’s professional career after leaving college. A copy of the catalogue will be included as part of the purchase price.
