Cuban born Art (Arthur) Smith (1917-1982) was a jeweller who traded out of Greenwich Village, New York. A regarded figure in American jewellery history, Art Smith designed and made for the likes of Duke Ellington and Eleanor Roosevelt. He was also an active in the early Gay rights movement and also Civil Rights.
