Ammonite Ltd were Welsh based jewellery and silver manufactuers based at Llandow, Cowbridge, South Wales. Besides jewellery they made silver figures, thimbles, pincushions, dishes and matchbox holders. They started business in 1966 and ceased trading in 1982 when they were taken over by Boehm porcelain manufactuers. Boehm wanted to move into the making of bronze figures and Ammonite’s casting foundry was ideal. Boehm eventually made not only bronze pieces but silver too, including limited editions of the Mary Rose ship, and a miniature America’s Cup.
